New gym updates and clarification!

January 19th, 2010

Good to see everyone that came to the first gym session last night at Fantastic. It was a very fun session.

I first need to clarify that this is a parkour session only.  I think there was some rumors going around the UofM gym that this was an open time slot for anyone to come in and do whatever they want (IE: gymnastics or break dancing). This is not the case. Sorry if this is bad news for anyone. You are more then welcome to come, but you MUST participate in the parkour session to come.

Now on to the updates! We have been informed that you must sign a waiver and also there is a 10 dollar fee per year that must be payed for Manitoba Gymnastics Association (MGA) insurance. A sheet will be provided at a later date outlining the details of what this insurance will cover. This insurance is mandatory, but it’s a good deal. For those who have already purchased MGA insurance at another gym (Panthers, etc.), you will not need to pay this fee again as the coverage extends to any MGA gym. If any of this information is unclear, please contact T-mac here.

Also, there will be more sessions opening up in the future. Information regarding class times will be posted at a later date.

Hope to see everyone at the gym!

New Gym

January 16th, 2010

As most of you may know, the gym at the UofM has closed. However, we have managed to find a new place to train. We have had a lot of good times at the UofM, but things change and we have to move on. The new gym is called Fantastic Gymnastics and is located at unit 1-55 Henlow Bay. For now the only current day is Monday from 8:40 -10PM and the cost is 8 dollars per visit. Everyone is required to sign a waiver form (if you are under 18 your parents are going to have to sign it.). Once I get a copy of the waiver I will host it on the site so you are able to download it and print it. A copy will be available at the gym as well. Hope to see you there!

Like last year we are holding a training session on Halloween but dressed up as ninjas. It’s a lot of fun. If your not doing anything before the parties or trick or treating come on down. More info here.

It’s Hot!

June 24th, 2009

It’s getting to be fairly hot outside. Make sure to prep yourself for the hot weather and be careful when you train. Drinks lots of water and bring extra water with you. Also wear some sun screen if you need it and if you are just standing around, stand in the shade to cool off.
