Winnipeg parkour can be summed up in one word: Community.

What is Parkour?
Parkour is a natural method to train the human body to be able to move forward quickly, making use of the environment that’s around us at any given time. This ‘art of displacement’ requires neither specific structure nor accessory for its practice. The body is the only tool. It’s an athletic discipline accessible to all, because it combines all the natural skills of the human body: running, jumping, climbing, etc. It’s a sport that permits exploration of the potential offered by your body. It’s about being able to face the obstacles with which you are presented, whether they be in the natural environment or in the urban environment, in a search for movement that combines effectiveness and control. -Paraphrased from parkour.net
What is Winnipeg parkour?
On the outside it might look like this is a site just related to parkour but it is much, much more than that. The main focus of Winnipeg Parkour is to build a strong group of practioners that are there for each other. It is a place where anyone is welcome regardless of skill, colour, or age. A place where people will take the time to lend a hand instead of letting someone fail. A place where people care for each others training just as much as their own.

With that in mind, we try to find ways to get people moving and training in the best and safest ways possible, whether it be through gym meets, outdoor jams, one-on-one training, or public events. The community will be there.

Without the help of the community the site would die off, but with every passing year we grow more and more together. This would not be possible without people donating their time and skill to this great place. As time goes on, who knows what great things will become of this community. The sky is the limit.
